Tapas at Embrujo

Originally established in 1972 by Juan Garcia, Embrujo brings the tastes and sounds of Spain's famous Andalusian culture and cuisine to Toronto. Tapas Embrujo quickly became a hotbed for Flamenco artists to gather and enjoy Spanish arts and cuisine, which was relatively non-existent in the City at the time. After Juan’s retirement in 1986, his son Jose Salgado sought to further his father's legacy and relaunched Tapas at Embrujo at its current Danforth location. Featured in various prominent tv shows on the Food Network, Breakfast Television and Telelatino, as well as gathering multiple awards, Jose’s rustic style of flavour and presentation pushes forward the idea of focusing on staying true to the authentic tapas experience, as a whole. By coupling authentic Spanish tapas classics like tortilla de patatas, Gambas al ajillo and paella with the accompaniment of weekly traditional Spanish Flamenco entertainment, who are brought in directly from Spain, the experience is as authentic as you can get without actually traveling to Spain yourself.
